Taking a Quiz in Canvas

Accessing Quizzes in Canvas

Your instructor may include graded or ungraded (or practice) quizzes as part of your online coursework. Quizzes may be accessed in modules (these will have been added by your instructor to specific modules) OR the navigation link labeled Quizzes may be visible on the left side of the screen. If the navigation link Quizzes is available, you will be able to select it and view all of the quizzes included in the course; here is an explanation on how to access quizzes through the navigation link.

Submitting a Quiz/Can I Retake a Quiz?

Quizzes may be timed or untimed and your professor may make the quiz available for a specific period of time (e.g., during week 3 of your course). You may have more than one opportunity to take the quiz--it depends on how your professor has set up the quiz.

NOTE: for timed quizzes, once you begin the quiz,Canvas begins a countdown and the quiz will only be open for the specified time. Schedule your time so you can complete all of the questions in the time allotted.
