Introduction to the Course

You are about to embark upon an epic journey through time.  The course begins in the 17th century and continues to the present. Each module will take you at minimum 6 hours to complete.  Assignments will consist of chapter and map quizzes to assess your knowledge of who, what, and where (I'm assuming you had some exposure to this materiel in your life, but probably could use a refresher).  The remainder of the assignments will emphasize why and how.   I value writing as a highly valued, marketable skill.  Look on any 100K job site and you'll find one of the first requirements is "excellent oral and written communication."  Like any other skill, practice is essential.  You will start with writing a paragraph and the graduate to full-length essays by the end of the semester.  In fact, your final exam is an essay, so don't wait until the last minute.  I look forward to working with you :)

The course is designed so that you may work at your own pace with one stipulation:

Modules 1-2 must be completed by November 18, 11:59.

Modules 3-4 must be completed by December 9, 11:59.

Modules 5-7 must be completed by December 21, 11:59

All work not submitted after these date for these modules will result in a 10% penalty.  I will not accept any work after December 21, 11:59

Finally, a thorough reading of the syllabus (link on your right) is essential.  A complete copy of my policies and grading procedures are outlined there.
